Our work
Since Foundation Day on 26 February 2021, Sahishnu Foundation has granted scholarships to students from economically backward families, run free medical camps with visiting specialists, and opened a free diagnostic and counseling clinic in Bramhapuri. Here is what we have done so far.
Timeline of our work
Every camp and event below was organized by the foundation with visiting doctors, most of them free of cost. The most recent work is listed first. | 24 May 2024 | Physiotherapy case: Erb’s Palsy paediatric session | A paediatric physiotherapy session for Erb’s Palsy at Sahishnu Foundation, Bramhapuri. |
| 14 May 2024 | Orthopedic camp and Bone Mineral Density screening | Free calcium and BMD screening with a BMD machine by Dr. Rehan Amji (M.S. Ortho) of City Hospital, Nagpur Kamathi. 39 patients participated. |
| 30 April 2024 | Open discussion with the citizens of Bramhapuri | Dr. Amit Vasudevrao Bhandarkar (Spine Surgeon, USA) held an open discussion and accepted suggestions from the citizens of Bramhapuri. |
| 13 April 2024 | Dental camp | Dr. Arti Chauhan gave dental care to around 20 patients and promised monthly visits to the foundation. |
| 27 July 2023 | Community outreach camp at Khadki–Panholi | A general diagnostic camp led by Dr. Umakant with several volunteers. 55 adults and 23 paediatric patients were clinically examined. |
| 23 July 2023 | Urology diagnostic medical camp | Patients were examined by urologist Dr. Pranal Sahare (MBBS, MS, MCh, DNB) at the foundation in Bramhapuri. |
| 12 June 2023 | Psychiatric camp and teleconsultation OPD | Dr. Sachin Hemke counselled patients with psychiatric disorders through video-conferencing (teleconsultation). |
| 25 December 2022 | Spine camp | A spine camp by Dr. Bhandarkar, successfully completed. |
| 20 March 2022 | Spine and orthopedic camp | A diagnostic, second-opinion and counselling camp by Dr. M. Faizan (Spine Surgeon) and Dr. N. Godghate (Joint Replacement Surgeon). |
| 6 March 2022 | Free cardiology camp | Conducted by Dr. Aashish Badkhal and Dr. Amrish Bukkawar. Around 40 patients benefited. |
| 26 February 2022 | Opening of the free clinic | The free diagnostic and counseling clinic in the name of Dr. W. R. Bhandarkar opened at Brahmapuri, with a plan to bring specialists periodically, free of cost. |
| 10 October 2021 | Spine clinic | Conducted by Dr. Amit Bhandarkar. 60 patients were seen and counseled. |
| 26 February 2021 | Foundation Day — first scholarships granted | A ₹50,000 cheque was presented to Govindrao Warjurkar College, Nagbhid (Principal Mr. Singh) by Mrs. Vandana Bhandarkar and Alokdipti Shah, and a ₹50,000 cheque to S. S. Jaiswal College, Arjuni (Principal Mr. Ashwin Chandel), presented by Ms. Rupa Kukde. This is an annual scholarship of ₹50,000 for meritorious UG/PG students from economically backward families. |

These camps were also held by the foundation. The original announcements did not give exact dates.
- Pulmonology camp — conducted by Dr. Raghuvanshi.
- Community outreach camp at Shivani — 63 patients were given general consultation and OPD-based physiotherapy treatment at Shivni.
