Sahishnu Foundation is solely dependent on donors like you. Every rupee goes toward free consultations, medicines, physiotherapy sessions, ambulance service and scholarships for families in and around Bramhapuri

Who we are

Sahishnu Foundation is a not-for-profit charitable organization registered with the Chandrapur district Charity Commissioner’s office, Maharashtra. It was founded on 26 February 2021 — the 71st birth anniversary of Dr. Wasudeorao Bhandarkar — by a group of young, motivated people inspired by his lifetime of service as an educator, principal and mentor.

We run a free diagnostic and counseling clinic at OLD MOTHER’S PET SCHOOL, Nagbhid Road, Bramhapuri; operate the Dr. Narendra Chauvahn Physical Therapy Center; bring specialist doctors to surrounding villages through free outreach camps; and award annual scholarships to meritorious students from economically backward families.

What we do

All our services run on a not-for-profit basis, most of them from the Dr. Wasudeorao Bhandarkar Charitable Clinic in Bramhapuri:

Free and low-cost health camps, clinic consultations and physiotherapy
24/7 low-cost ambulance service for poor, needy and elderly patients
Annual scholarships and science competitions for meritorious students
Outreach camps that carry care to villages around Bramhapuri

Areas we focus on

Clinic & specialist camps

Our free diagnostic and counselling clinic opened on 26 February 2022 at Bhede Complex, Bramhapuri. Visiting specialists have since run camps in cardiology, spine and orthopedics, urology, pulmonology, psychiatry, dental care and bone mineral density screening

The Dr. Narendra Chauvahn Physical Therapy Center provides physiotherapy — including kinesiology taping and paediatric sessions — on a not-for-profit, appointment-only basis

Scholarships for meritorious students

Every year on Foundation Day (26 February), we award scholarships to meritorious students from economically backward families.

Our Annual Scholarship Competition also invites school students to submit projects on real community issues, with cash prizes for the best entries

Camps that reach every village

Since 2021 we’ve held free diagnostic camps in cardiology, spine and orthopedics, urology, pulmonology, psychiatry, dental care and bone density screening — many of them taken directly to villages like Khadki–Panholi and Shivani.

In memory of Dr. Wasudeorao Bhandarkar

Sahishnu Foundation is registered with the Chandrapur district Charity Commissioner’s office, Maharashtra. It was founded on 26 February 2021 — Dr. Bhandarkar’s 71st birthday — and is guided by seven trustees.

We believe that every life matters and our passion is to see those we work with follow their hearts, pursue their dreams, receive the love of the Father, and live a life with purpose. Join the Havel Scholarship program. Together we can care for orphans.

Scholarship package includes: tuition, school materials, school uniforms, meals throughout the day at school and a personal relationship built with the child’s caregivers or family. For $10 per month, you’ll help a child receive a private education; helping them stand tall, have hope and be free from poverty!
