Announcement of Dr. Wasudeorao Bhandarkar Annual Scholarship Competition 2025-26
(For Students of Grades 8 to 10)
(Theme: Sustainable Solutions to Control Dust Pollution in Bramhapuri)
Respected Sir/Madam,
In keeping with the values and vision of Dr. Wasudeorao Bhandarkar, the Sahishnu Foundation has been actively promoting scientific thinking among students through environmental awareness initiatives. Last year, we successfully conducted a similar scholarship competition on the theme of rising temperatures in Bramhapuri, in which scholarships were awarded to the top three students from STEM Podar School, Christanand School, and Nevjabai Hitkarini Girls’ School. Encouraged by the positive response and impact of the initiative, we are pleased to announce the Dr. Wasudeorao Bhandarkar Annual Scholarship Competition 2025-26, organized by the Sahishnu Foundation.
The theme for this year’s competition is “Sustainable Solutions to Control Dust Pollution in Bramhapuri.” Dust pollution has become a serious concern affecting public health, environmental quality, and daily life in Bramhapuri. Through this competition, we aim to encourage students to think scientifically and propose practical, innovative solutions to address this important local issue.
We request your kind cooperation in encouraging students from Grades 8 to 10 to participate actively. Kindly display the competition details on the school notice board and motivate interested students to take part.
Competition Details
Participants are required to prepare a 5-minute video proposing innovative and practical solutions to control dust pollution in Bramhapuri. Students are encouraged to present their ideas as young environmental scientists, ensuring that their solutions are creative, realistic, and scientifically sound.
The proposed solutions should be:
• Scientifically sound
• Economically feasible
• Based on effective use of local resources
Evaluation Criteria
- Feasibility: Practical applicability of the solution in Bramhapuri
- Scientific Approach: Use of scientific principles and logical reasoning
- Economic Viability: Cost-effectiveness considering local conditions
- Use of Local Resources: Effective utilization of local environmental and social resources
Prizes
- First Prize:- ₹ 31,000 /-
- Second Prize:- ₹ 21,000 /-
- Third Prize:- ₹ 11,000 /-
- Runner-Up Prize:- ₹ 10,000 /-
Important Note
The intra-school selection shall be conducted by the respective school teachers. Each school is requested to submit only the top three selected videos to the Sahishnu Foundation.
All entries must be submitted only through the school’s official email ID & WhatsApp
The decision of the Sahishnu Foundation shall be final.
Presentation Opportunity
Selected students will be given the opportunity to present their ideas at the “Environmental Summit”, organized by the Sahishnu Foundation, in the presence of local representatives. The live presentation of this competition will be held on 13 February 2026 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Participating students and school teachers are requested to kindly take note of the same.
